Preliminary numbers are still trickling in, but alarms have already sounded from at least three of the larger retirement fund administrators – Old Mutual, Alexforbes and Momentum – regarding the cumulative sums being withdrawn from the retirement savings pool. Alexforbes recorded more than 140,000 claims during the first week of March alone.
